The Corder Note - Feb 2010
I want to share some exciting things that have been happening since September, when we put out our last news letter. We added four new deacons with the existing ones we have met new challenges; we have ministered to more families in personal ways than ever before since I have been your pastor. Our deacons have been in homes visiting or taking food or other aid all in the name of our Lord Jesus and Braddock Baptist Church (BBC). In addition our deacons have worked to bind up broken hearts and set at liberty some who have been captive to hurts from years past. I want to say “Thank you to our deacons”.
In addition we have seen new people come to Christ and others joining our fellowship. Some of our most resent, are Darrin Murphy and Janine Kendrick’s; they both having given their hearts to Christ are seeking his best. Upon Jesus taking up residence in their hearts; exciting things are taking place. Darrin who is in his early 40’s and been smoking for near 30 years has laid down the cigarettes and God’s grace is such that he has not touched one since. Also the two of them have decided to discontinue what has been an on-off, live in relationship, spanning two decades to start premarital counseling with a wedding date set for March 13th this year. Let’s give God praise for the wonderful life changes he is making in these new family members.
Also since our last update we have gone “Live”. The Lord had given your pastor a dream to broadcast our services “Live’. I prayed God would send us an information Technology person an ‘IT guy’ who could help make this happen, God is good!
Jan 31st was our first time showing our service live, we had a homebound lady able to attend her “home church” while not being able to get out of her house. PTL! We were also able to have a member on travel in Seattle turn us on and join us live with others in the Washington state area, and in addition one of our members who is deployed too was able to see and hear us, bring our worship of the almighty God to a global net work. It is your pastor’s dream that this will continue to be a tool to minister to our flock and to reach out to the lost and in need of receiving God’s saving grace around the world. Pray with me and tell someone about what God is doing at Braddock.
Finally, it is further a vision of mine that everyone attending (BBC) will receive discipleship training: to be able to share their faith, to understand the joy and power that accompanies those who witness for Christ. Also I want all of the bride of Christ at (BBC) grow in intimate wisdom concerning the ways of our Lord, to recognize his handy work and learn to join him in his labors.
In February we will be offering new discipleship opportunities; on Thursday evenings classes on
Some exciting things are happening here at Braddock Baptist, don’t forget to tell someone.
Love you all,
Pastor Timothy
